I have been given some low bay lighting to sort out in my warehouse. There are currently about 26 sodium chloride lowbay lights. 11 of theses do not have glass inserts, and so the HSE have deemed them unsafe and asked us to replace them asap.
From the research I have done the mercury low bay fittings seem to be the best option, and also the replacement bulbs are fairly reasonable in comparison to other bulb types. (these are 250w fittings). The main problem I have is finding out whether the mercury (MBF) bulbs will work in our existing sodium chloride fittings and work efficeintly.
