(this post is uploaded on behalf of Katy Bryan, UK Sustainability Manager for Philips Lighting)
Recently I have been working with various NHS trusts to see how lighting can help impact on their carbon emissions, energy consumption and maintenance costs. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Directors of Estates to map out what role lighting can play in the strategic direction of the trust. Much of the feedback is on how lighting companies can accelerate the adoption of LED in the market place. Amongst other suggestions, the need for clear and easy to access information on what to look for when specifying LED lighting is needed. All valid points!
I look forward to responding to this feedback and addressing such issues as below through CPD’s, which can be held on one's Estate.
- The Basics of Light and Lighting
- The Principles of LED
- Introduction to Lighting Controls
- Lighting for Medical Environments
- Light and Wellbeing - How Lighting Impacts on Patient Comfort
