I’m pleased to announce the newest member of the LED Expert Panel, Don Ellingham, Applications Engineer for Philips LED Lamps.
If you’re a regular participant in the LightCommunity and the Innovations in Light group on LinkedIn, Don scarcely needs an introduction – He’s one of our most active members – but here’s a mini-biography:
With a history in LEDs dating back to 80’s reliability studies of early Monsanto and HP LEDs, to 13 years of recent color LED sign design, Don Ellingham knows LEDs. Inspired by the incredible talent at CBS Laboratories, Don went on to cutting-edge projects for NASA, the FAA, Boeing, Bendix, CACI, RADC, Fort Monmouth, and the Federal Government, many of which incorporated LEDs.
Author of the “Under the Hood” LED lamp studies with >42,000 downloads in <4 months, Don’s been an inventor and entrepreneur, and now is an Applications Engineer for Philips LED Lamps and Systems at a new “technology hub” in the Boston area. Don has developed our new Dimmer & Lamp Compatibility Test Facility, the first step in a major effort to classify the compatibility of dozens of dimmers with varied arrays of Philips’ current and future LEDs.
An avid LinkedIn participant in Philips Innovations in Light, Don has made it is his personal mission to help others understand the potential LEDs hold for cost-effective and creative environmental enhancement.
